Being Inclusive in the Creative and Performing Arts

Project information

Welcome to the BICPA (Being Inclusive in the Creative and Performing Arts) website, the content of this site aims to provide practical information and advice to enhance the choice and provision for students with disabilities.

We at the BICPA team, hope that some of innovative ideas that have been implemented with the eight institutions will not only provide ideas, but also highlight issues that can arise when institutions seek to extend their provision for disabled students.

The work undertaken at the eight CADISE (the Consortium of Arts and Design Institutions in Southern England) institutions has lead to real cultural change throughout the institutions, it is genuinely felt that ideas and lessons learnt are transferable across a range of institutions and are not strictly limited to the creative sector.

Finally it should be mentioned that all the experience gained across the CADISE institutions and contained within this site has been drawn from actual institutional practice and is therefore practical and workable. We hope that visitors to the site will find the information useful and that some of our good practice can be emulated in other institutions.
